We spend time visiting locations where families in crisis are gathered. Most dislocated communities wish to remain together and often work in agricultural settings. Their incomes are minimal and their resources are extremely limited. By getting to know each group of families, we learn of their needs and their difficulties.

One way we have found of helping is to source basic materials at the best wholesale prices. Through discussion with the elders in each group, we prepare a plan to deliver what is most needed. We ensure that each family is able to order an appropriate quantity to suit their needs. The process is simple but effective, we ensure that the support is what’s most needed and at the lowest possible cost. Working with local organisations, we are able to subsidise the deliveries, thus ensuring that families are getting a modest but greatly appreciated benefit.

This activity has been operating sporadically, whenever time and resources allow, for over eight years. WHIN Trust aims to continue in this manner whenever possible.

Deliveries typically include such things as flour, cooking oil, baby milk, tents, tarpaulins, blankets, firewood and woodstoves.
