TIAFI

Team International Assistance for Integration - is a charity we’ve been working with in Turkey caring for impoverished people since 2017. TIAFI has recently inaugurated a programme called STEP UP, which provides physiotherapy, prosthetic limbs and one-to-one online rehabilitation for child amputees from war zones.

Through this scheme, children aged 5-15 living in poverty can access:

• An assessment with a qualified physiotherapist

• One-to-one physiotherapy via zoom

• A tablet computer for the Zoom sessions with optional internet booster

• Tailored psycholgical and nutritional advice and information on care of residual limbs

• Exercise equipment

• Donated Prostheses

Online physiotherapy is a convenient, accessible and effective alternative to in-person sessions for children who may otherwise not be able to make the journey into a clinic.

Each child’s treatment costs £130 a month. With that money we can ensure that child amputees regain full mobility, independence and live happier more fulfilling lives. We have seen first hand what a difference STEP UP has made in the lives of disabled children.
